As the earth moves from winter to spring, what dances emerge?

This workshop is grounded in the Indigenous principle that we are part of, rather than separate from nature. As the earth regenerates, so do our bodies.

Our intention is to open our sensory awareness and interconnect with earth’s aliveness. We’ll explore how our bodies are a microcosm of earth’s life forms. Our bones contain minerals that are found in rocks and stones. Our heart mirrors the way rivers and streams flow to and from the ocean. Our metabolism is like the sun’s fire that converts food into nourishing energy.

Working with Anna Halprin’s kinesthetic approach, we’ll explore dances that evoke qualities of weight, shape, tempo, and flow. As we move with nature’s dynamic life-force, we too encounter our dynamic creative expression.

Through our empathetic connection with nature, we animate the deep bond between body and earth, reminding us of how we create, heal and thrive.
