“ There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening, that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique..”

 ~ Martha Graham

Did you know you have a superpower? You might’ve never even noticed that you have it. Well here’s a little secret. If you’re anything like me you have the power to make things invisible!

Wait a second, let’s back up a little bit. I think everyone has this power to some degree, some of us more than others. And superpower may not be precisely the right term, too much of this ability could be detrimental.

What I’m really talking about is entropy. I recently had the sudden insight that invisibility is a hidden property of entropy.

Normally, when you consider entropy you might think of it in terms of the tendency for things to fall apart or become more disorganized as time goes on. It can be a fancy word for things like clutter or a big mess.

The fact is, when things fall apart the pieces have to fall somewhere. And the longer they lie undisturbed, the more likely they are to become entirely invisible over time.

You’ve probably had that experience. Something causes you to move things around suddenly and you realize something has been sitting there so long that you completely lost sight of it. “It blended into the wallpaper!”

The point is, energy likes to move. The key to keeping things clear and visible is to be aware when energy gets stuck in the first place.

You may have noticed the same thing happening inside your body when you dance. A thought or an idea or an inspiration that’s been stuck or hiding out of sight gets shaken loose by your movement. That’s why it’s always a good idea to have a notepad and pen handy when you’re getting your groove on!

Whether it’s a random object, a prized memento, or last years   phone book, (remember those?), occasionally waking up to its presence and making sure you’re ok with its energy being stationary can really help you stay light.

If it happens to be your body in question, when in doubt, MOVE!

Yours in motion till next Monday,

M+
