Authentic Movement enthusiasts will want to check out the new book “LIGHT” by Berlin-based filmmaker Jens Wazel that tells the story behind the making of the film LIGHT – Five Days with Janet Adler.

Janet Adler (1941–2023) is the founder of the Discipline of Authentic Movement, a studio practice sourced in the relationship between a mover and a witness. She was one of two proteges of Mary Starks Whitehouse who pioneered the inner-directed approach to movement.

LIGHT is the story behind the film. It chronicles Wazel’s three-and-a-half-year journey to meet, collaborate with, and ultimately say goodbye to Janet, who died just after the film was released.
