Make plans to time travel this holiday season to the Great Dickens Christmas Fair & Victorian Holiday Party at the Cow Palace in South San Francisco the Friday after Thanksgiving and every weekend through Dec 21st!
Now in its 41st season, The Great Dickens Christmas Fair continues to enchant generations with its sprawling recreation of 19th-century London, populated by hundreds of costumed characters from literature and history. Guests encounter familiar faces such as Ebenezer Scrooge, Father Christmas and Mr. and Mrs. Fezziwig, along with chimney sweeps, suffragists, seafarers, and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future.
Around every corner and down each lamplit lane, visitors discover seven stages of continuous entertainment and interactive moments that ensure no two visits are ever the same — an unforgettable experience that draws guests back year after year.
Widely regarded as one of the top ten Christmas events in the nation, The Great Dickens Christmas Fair transforms four acres of theatrically lit exhibition halls into a time-traveling feat filled with Victorian wonder.
This year, the Fair pays special tribute to Lewis Carroll as the lines between literature and history blur: as if stepping through Alice’s looking glass, guests will discover an all-new classic English Pantomime, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. They may even encounter Mr. Carroll himself inside the Athenaeum Club, pose for photos at the Tea Time with Alice and Friends mural in the children’s area, and browse the merchandise shop for a whimsical Mad Hatter or Make Time For Tea T-shirt.
Transport yourself to a Christmas Eve straight out of Dickens’ London, where more than 100 artisan shops offer one-of-a-kind holiday gifts, vintage ornaments, and handcrafted jewelry. The air is filled with the aromas of hearty English fare — from classic fish ‘n chips to savory meat pies and roast beef — while robust brews, Victorian cocktails, mulled wine, and hot buttered rum provide seasonal cheer.
