SOUL NOTES
5RHYTHMS AND LIVE WIRE RITUAL THEATER “SOUL NOTES”
WITH LORCA SIMONS & GINA ESPINOSA
April 22-26
POLIORAMA THEATRE
BARCELONA
Like a living musical score, our soul holds all the notes. From it emerge all the possible melodies to tell the human story. The story of stories. The true one. A theme rooted in the human heart.
In this invisible unfolding, past, present, and future intertwine and express themselves through a symbolic language that transcends words. A language revealed through the body, movement, presence, and ritual.
In this 5Rhythms Live Wire Ritual Theatre workshop, we will explore the self as our field of work. Soul Notes is born from the maps of 5Rhythms and Live Wire Ritual Theatre. In this workshop, Lorca Simons and Gina Espinosa facilitate the journey, consciously guiding the delicate act of weaving this collective co-creation, holding a space where individual stories are woven into a shared tapestry.
It will be five days of deep exploration. Five days of listening to the body, allowing the poetry hidden in gesture, pulse, and breath to emerge. A time to move that which longs to be expressed, to let our dance reveal what yearns to take shape.
And then, sew. Weave. Interlace.
To shape a performative exhibition where each body becomes a note, each presence a voice, and each story finds its place within the collective composition.
The techniques presented will be rooted in the 5Rhythms practice developed by Gabrielle Roth and further developed by Lorca Simons, Martha Peabody, and the Live Wire 5Rhythms theater group. This approach is applicable to artists and individuals of any discipline and can be easily integrated into their own creative language.
From Lorca and Gina’s perspective, artistic creation is also an act of healing. The highest form of healing arises when we are able to make art with what we feel, when we choose to create something from our history instead of carrying it in silence. When pain, beauty, memory, and desire are transformed into movement, image, and shared ritual.
Soul Notes was born from this shared love of creating and telling stories on stage through the body, deep listening, living presence, and ritual action. A return to the origins of theater and dance as sacred spaces of transformation.
“Turn your suffering into art, your art into consciousness, and your consciousness into action.” — GR
Our five days together will culminate in a stage performance to which friends, family, and teachers can be invited.
Soul Notes is an invitation to create sacred art, to let your body write its own music and offer that melody to the world.

Lorca SimonsEvent MemberLorca is a certified 5Rhythms facilitator dedicated to the creation of physical theatre that is both interactive and transformative.
She was born and raised in Texas where she grew up in her father’s experimental theatre company Hip Pocket Theatre. As an artistic associate she has been involved in producing original works for 47 years. A graduate of The University of North Carolina School of the Arts theatre conservatory. Educated in both experimental and traditional theatre. She has blazed through productions in New York City from Off Broadway to fringe, as well as television and film.
Lorca followed her instincts to the unique directing vibration known as Gabrielle Roth and a 19 year creative collaboration bloomed. She studied and trained with Gabrielle from the mid-90’s and was a co-founder and a co-director of 5RT, the experimental theatre wing of the 5Rhythms world, a place she stepped into with her expansive Texan feet, collaborating on numerous original productions and international workshops. In response to Gabrielle Roth’s investigation into what it means to be an authentic human being Lorca created Live Wire 5Rhythms Theatre which is dedicated to the creation of physical theater that is both interactive and transformative. Live Wire labs: Breath in Motion, Roots, Electric Landscapes, Silhouette, Wing Span, Soul Threading, Live Wire and On The Verge are rooted in a visionary and rigorous technique for people to become true “athletes of the heart” exploring and investigating the depths of the human spirit.
She is committed to scattering the seeds of this transformative process.
“I believe in the healing power of theatre. I believe in a theatre of heart, one that feeds and fuels the soul. A theatre that brings change, mirroring landscapes lost or left behind, one that exposes life from the deepest core of its being. One that expands imagination through curiosity, breath, physical gesture, and space. From this place of truth, ritual springs into authentic action and anything is possible.” -Lorca
