What does the programme cover?
In the discipline of authentic movement our experience of one another develops within deep embodied empathy. The weekend will explore an integrative approach drawing on and weaving together the principles of humanistic person-centred and the psychodynamic orientation to form an integrative model. The AM experience resonates in our bodies in the
present moment and beyond. Embodied empathy is crucial for transformational learning enhancing our being in the ‘here-and-now’ Participants will learn to engage with this direct experience of self, beyond words and concepts through their own and others authentic bodily
movement and verbal sharing.

Trainer: Professor Helen Payne, Reg ADMP/UKCP. I was first introduced to AM by the founder of what was then called ‘movement-in-depth’ with Mary Starks Whitehouse in 1979.
I then trained with Dr Janet Adler in The Discipline of Authentic Movement/AM (Adler, 2002) in the first senior DMTs international intensive circles beginning in 1992 which I organised. To date I have offered training across the globe and continue to employ the
discipline in my private practice.
