ReSource; we’re getting resourced, supported, aided. Many of us are looking for ways to recover, reassess and realign ourselves, finding our place back in this ‘new normal’.
Looking at the word differently, re-source, the source, the beginning, the place of origin. My hunch is that this source is the place we do resource ourselves, nourish our souls, tend to our spirits, nurture our life force.
Each week will be focused on a Core Movement Resources that we utilise in Open Floor. These are: Activate & Settle, Centre, Dissolve, Expand & Contract, Ground, Pause, Release, Spatial Awareness, Towards & Away and Vector. These help us learn about our own embodiment as well as offering us tools to resource on the dancefloor and also in our daily lives.
In each hour and a half session there’ll be time for dancing (nearly an hour) and time for anything else that is resourcing (about 15 mins) whatever that might be for anyone. It may be time for creativity, meditating, reading, resting. For each of us what is resourcing may look very different, it may be none of those things I’ve mentioned, an impulse might arise in the moment, perhaps inspired by the ‘Core Movement Resource’ of the week and the ability to really tune in to what you need after dancing. I will be offering an idea for an art exercise for those that want to do that.
Cost: £160 / Concessions & Open Floor Teachers £144
