The winter solstice marks a transition between seasons, inviting us to turn inward and make space for renewal. In this end-of-the-year movement workshop, we shift with the changing rhythms of our bodies, and slow down.
Through Movement Ritual and Dance Explorations, a somatic practice devised by Anna Halprin, we relax the body-mid and let go of unnecessary tension. With embodied awareness, we connect to sensatins, emotions, and images to enliven our creative expression. Drawing and writing give voice to our experiences of darkness and light.
As the year ends and a new one begins, what would you like to shine a light on? You are invited to embody a longing that illuminates your creative aliveness.
Drawing and writing give voice to our inner landscape and acknowledge a wide range of experiences.
Open to all. No dance or art experience needed. Only a willingness to explore!
To get the most out of this online series, please prepare a comfortable space to move in with access to your online device. Also, have art supplies ready at hand for drawing activities, and paper and pen for journaling and creative writing exercises.
