LIGHT UP!: Nia, Yoga & Soulful Planning with Marybeth, Jess and Amy
A fresh start in 2020: delicious organic food, salt water infinity pool, pristine beaches, 7 days of joy-filled movement and connection. We will offer:
Nia® Moving to Heal
Soulful Planning Sessions
This week is one of my favorite weeks of the year – Here’s why.
Last year we had people from Virginia, Maryland, Michigan, Colorado, New York, and South Carolina. These amazing women (men are also invited!) – were a diverse, AND like minded, group. We ranged in age from 20 to 79 ( including four mother-daughter pairs)and quickly found ourselves sharing meaningful conversations, nourishing meals, daily sunset swims in the Pacific, sweaty Nia sessions, empowering yoga practices, and thought-provoking soulful planning sessions.
Ample free time for rest, reading, spa treatments, or a walk into town.
A few words from 2019 participants :
“It was really amazing to be able to observe how different I was from my first retreat a few years ago, to this one. The activities all worked really well together to bring about joy, and sense of community, and personal transformation! ”
“I learned to be kinder to myself, to be more aware and truly what it is to be more purposeful and live with intention. The food made it easy to be good to my body and provided a kick start to a better diet once I got home. The exercise throughout the day was amazing, the level of conversation and connection with other women was exactly what I needed to come home refreshed and approach the daily issues I have in my life with purpose and compassion. ”
It was a beautiful and healing week, with lots of opportunity to connect with kindred spirits in what might as well have been paradise. I returned feeling renewed, empowered, and inspired.”

In the meantime……
Blue Spirit Costa Rica provides an extraordinary setting to all who are dedicated to spiritual transformation, personal development, and environmental sustainability. Perched on a hilltop that overlooks the Pacific Ocean and a three-mile long white sand beach that is protected as a turtle refuge – Blue Spirit offers an extraordinarily beautiful and natural setting on one of Costa Rica’s renowned beaches, supporting your retreats, workshops, and trainings to be a deeply nurturing and unforgettable experience.
Blue Spirit is located in one of the world’s Blue Zones© which inspired the name Blue Spirit. According to author Dan Buettner, the Nicoya Peninsula is one of five Blue Zone’s in the world: a Blue Zone is an area where people live the longest and report the highest levels of well-being. While visiting Blue Spirit, you will feel the resonance of a vibrant, inspiring, and healing energy, because of the rich subtropical environment, and the cultural lifestyle.
TRAVEL TO BLUE SPIRIT
Blue Spirit takes care of all of the details regarding shuttle transfers between Blue Spirit and the different airports in Costa Rica. The two international airports in Costa Rica are: Liberia International Airport (LIR) and San Jose International Airport (SJO).
It is recommended to fly into Liberia, which has been recently expanded with increased numbers of flights from the US and Canada. Shuttle transfers from/to Liberia cost $60 per person each way. An alternative option is to take a 40-minute short domestic flight between San Jose and the Nosara airport (20 min. from Blue Spirit).
Guiones Beach: Blue Spirit sits atop of a hillside overlooking a three-mile-long white sand beach along the Pacific Ocean. Guiones beach is home to a turtle refuge, which preserves the flora and fauna along the entire length; building is not permitted. The north and mid sections of Guiones beach offer great surfing to beginners and advanced alike. Blue Spirit is located at the quiet South end of the beach, where swimming is easy, thanks to the gentle current. The 700 foot walk (220 meters) from Blue Spirit to the beach transverses lush grounds full of mango trees and coconut palms.
SPA & LONGEVITY SERVICES
Whether your tissues are holding some core tensions, or you’d like some sound advice on nutrition, wish to transform a painful relationship issue, or simply are in the mood to be pampered with a tropical body polish or a luscious facial treatment… all Blue Spirit body-workers, therapists, and counselors are highly qualified, excel in what they do, and enjoy being of service.
There is so much you can enjoy when you are not in your class! Whether you lounge at the saltwater infinity pool or participate in a fire ritual on the beach in the evening, there are fabulous activities for guests who like to venture further. We offer: Horseback riding on the beach, surfing lessons, surf board rentals, canopy zip line tour, river kayaking, bird-watching tour, waterfall hike, stand up paddle surf, and turtle refuge tour.
