LEARN TO TEACH KIDS AND TEENS: Let Your Yoga Dance Teacher Training – Mod 3
Pre-requisite: Let Your Yoga Dance Teacher Training Mod 1 – OR – special permission from the director. Please note: If you do not have a foundation in our chakra-based practice (which occurs in Module 1), it will be challenging for you to understand the material.
Don’t delay! Dance your way to the program that people have been asking for for years! This strength-based training will give you the tools you need to bring Let Your Yoga Dance to impressionable young ones. Imagine the younger generation immersed in a dance form that is not only fun, but rich and deep, and respectful of all bodies, genders, ages.
In this training, participants will:
Learn your top signature strengths
Dance and practice-teach your way through the chakras
Receive a library of age-appropriate music for kids and teens
Experience embodied positive psychology to share with your students
Discover the power of nature within the dance of yoga
Fill your Let Your Yoga Dance tool-kit with playful, creative resources to teach kids and teens
Hone your teaching skills
The Let Your Yoga Dance world community has a profound mission, which is:
To spread joy and consciousness throughout the world by transmitting body health, brain health, heart health, and soul health to all populations. With the entry of the Kids and Teens program, our mission is now complete. We are indeed teaching all populations.
To graduate, you must take Module 1, either before or after the training is complete.
Your Training Directors
I, Megha, bring a lifetime of work in the arts, both as a performer, teacher, and trainer. I started teaching dance to teens when I myself was 15 years old. Later I taught Creative Dramatics for Children in Dunedin, New Zealand, as well as creating my own Shakespeare company for kids, aged 8-17: The Pondside Players. I also was founding director for The Bare Bones Shakespeare for kids and teens in Juneau, Alaska. I have led literally hundreds of trainings at Kripalu, graduating thousands of people in Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training, Holistic Health Teacher Training, and Let Your Yoga Dance Teacher Training, which I have directed for twenty years!
Luminous and lovely Missy Brown will be the assistant director in this special kids and teens training. Missy also brings two decades of experience working with children in both dance and yoga. She has taught in Connecticut public schools, and has been on staff for hundreds of Kripalu programs. She is a graduate of Rosemary Cloughs’ Creative Kids Movement and Yoga and has taught in many of Rosemary’s trainings. Also a Let Your Yoga Dance instructor, Missy will be Jurian Hughes’ assistant director for Let Your Yoga Dance Teacher Training in Puerto Rico in March 2017.
VIA Signature Strengths
VIAThe Kids and Teens training will begin before arrival at Kripalu. Immediately after registration, trainees will be asked to go online to discover their key signature strengths. They will be using these strengths throughout the week. In this way, participants will unearth a new language which will help them to “broaden and build positivity” (Fredrickson, B. Love 2.0) in their own lives, and the lives of their young students.
Participants will be given a wealth of music and movements, a roadmap to guide their students through the chakras, the body’s energy centers. Trainees will also be given relevant teachings in positive psychology that will be served forward to their students. Trainees will play in nature, deepen their creativity, and rediscover what it means to be a kid again.
This course will be rigorous, yet also fun. Trainees will be expected to engage in practice teaching sessions during the last day of the program to share what they have learned. Due to the brevity of the program, trainees will be asked after graduation to offer 7 practice-teach sessions to kind friends in order to hone their skills before teaching the general public.

Important Reminder: Please note that Early Registration is essential. Kripalu often closes its doors as much as a month out. As soon as they run out of beds, no one is allowed to register.

Our six annual Wild and Wise Women: Let Your Yoga Dance Festival will happen only hours after the kids and teens training ends. Women of ALL AGES, stay on after graduation and join us for a fabulous weekend celebration, June 30-May 2. This Wild and Wise Women program is loved by one and all. It is co-directed by founding director of Kind Yoga School and shaman from the Four Wind’s Peruvian tradition, Diane Kovanda.
